Anyone ever had to reposes super silt ? Have a customer that has not paid from last Oct. and we are going to meet the inspector on site and pull it all up. 1800 ft. We paid for it , we installed it and it is our property so up its going to come.

Wow. That's a first. I would call the customer and advise them, got hunch they might pay up.

That's a new one on me, but hey if they won't pay rip it out. Time for some these deadbeat customers to get what they have coming to them. Just out of curiosity, what is 1800' of silt fence worth alone without the labor? Seems like a lot of work for the reward so to speak. But I am all for making a point and recovering what is yours since they won't pay. Good luck!

You should get a legal opinion first--- go through the process--- Tony

I'm pretty sure once things are installed you can't take them back legally, however I would do it anyway. Reminds me of that YouTube paver video, I got a kick out of that.

You may want to do it at night.......ninja style. Once you start pulling it, if they are smart they will kick you off site. Once you have pulled up, make a call to the local epa and let the GC explain why he is not meeting his storm water plan requirements.

Not even worth it. Phone the EPA or local environmental authority and tell them it is getting ripped up on such a date if they do not pay . They will contact the person responsible. Keep in mind, if you rip it up you will never get paid. Also I only know one developer who pays in under 120 days so mabee it is worth it to wait another month or 2

Keep in mind also , it isn't your property. Doesn't matter if they haven't paid, you installed it on there property, they could really charge you with trespassing if they wanted too.

Not with silt fence But had a customer that paid everything but the river rock He said he wasn't going pay for dusty rock. I said ok The same day I went and started to removed it all
He called the cops told them I was stealing his rock They showed up I told the cop. The customer didn't want to pay for it So I'm taking it back.

The cop said I was ok for taking it and once the cop told the guy I had the right to take back, He paid for it .
