Sometimes there are holes in my learning. And maybe the answer is not important but ........ if one takes a material which has a Nitrogen percentage of 10 and an equal amount of a material with 6 percent do you end up with a blend that is 8 percent Nitrogen?

UUUMMMM! 16 I do believe, 10+ 6 = 16
if one bag is made up of 10% rocks and another 6% rocks your mix would be 16% rocks

Sorry bill not exactly.

You are not just adding the desired content, you are increasing the total weight. Hence..

say you add 10 lbs each product...
One has 10%N...
The other has 6% N...

Now you have 20 lbs total product...
1 lb N from first product...
.6 lbs N second product...

1.6 lbs divided by 20 lbs total weight multiplied by 100 equals...
8% N in your mixed product.
