I am sure most of you know this has been a crappy year. Here in Indiana we have been in a drought most of the summer. Mowing season is about over and I am thinking about snow on driveways. I have put my money into advertising and mowing equipment. I have picked up nearly 40 weekly accounts and almost 30 on call customers. Well most of the weekly mows turned into bi-weeklies because of the drought. The way I see it I have nearly 70 customers that already know my work. I do not want to buy a snow blower until I know that I have some work for it. I would like to send out a letter to my customers about snow removal. I was thinking about telling them that I do not have a snow blower but depending on response I would buy one. I would like to give them a price on the letter so they will know what to expect but I have no idea how to price it. How do I price snow removal and is it a good idea to ask without owning one. Is there really enough money into it to justify buying one? I am already in dept from this summer. Buying a snow blower will have to go on the credit card.
