OK I would like to take a poll to see how many of you use social marketing? what do you use? and has it worked for you? I'm in the pond business and as we all know it's seasonal and it has gone down do to the economy. The reason I ask is I'm going into the indoor market installing indoor water features such as glass water walls free standing and wall mounted this way I can stay busy all year and I don't have to stick with just doing business in Michigan. Thanks for your time.

I use twitter at least once a day. It helps us get organic page ranking on the first page. I also put ads on craigslist. You may not get much business from these ads but, the web crawlers find the key words you are using.

I try to think of words people would type in looking for our service. Then I type them into google and see where we come up. If not on the first page, then I work those words into my twitter and craigslist postings.

I use facebook as a simple way to connect with current customers adn let thme know about other services or discounts we have. It is free and doesn't take much effort. The craigslist idea is interesting. I don't understand twitter.
