I am lookin into a sod cutter, also a bed edger. Does the bed edgers work to like reshape beds after weeds grow between grass and mulch ? Also how much money for each of them and what brands are best?

both of these machines are great. the bed edger reshapes beds, but it puts a bunch of dirt that it digs up maybe like 1 1/2' into the bed, so u would really need to rake the mulch back far. i find that for existing beds, to freshen up the edge, a nice spade shovel is much less of a hassle. the bed edger is great for if you cut out the sod for some nice looking beds, and then go around it.. works great, and fast too; but in my opionion is best for the initial creation of beds, or beds with just dirt.... and on steep hills it is very difficult to keep it from sliding. great machine tho. both cost around $2100-$2500 each, though im sure there are some really expensive sodcutters out there.
