Does any one make a larger sod cutter than the Ryan IV?I have 20k of sod to take up and using the ryan will take days.I was going to use the skidsteer but it takes up too much top soil, besides the dump fees would kill me.None of the local rental yards have been very helpful.

20k will not take much time, around 2-4 hours.

I gotta agree. I usually don't take out sod w/ a cutter, but when I rent one, I am always amazed at how quick that thing is. It shouldn't take long to cut it, but you might want a bobcat to scoop all that stuff up. Scooping it up is gonna be hard work.

Thanks for the replies.I only use a sod cutter for small installs,I`ve never tried to take up this much sod before with one. We`ll see how it goes. The cleanup won`t be a problem since I already have a New Holland.

If time is a consern then rent an extra machine to help speed things up.
