Had a lady call me today to see if I would deliver sod to her house. She only needs 120 sq ft. No problem I can deliver it not so much install it though. The only problem is the nearest sod farm is 80 miles away. So my question is how much would you guys charge her for delivering the sod? Here is what I'm thinking.

Mileage 160 miles round trip. $1.75 a mile $280.00.

labor to pick it up and drop it off. Only
1 hour because I'm charging her mileage
for most of those hours. $60.00

cost of sod. $55.00

TOTAL $395.00

Do you think I'm charging too much??? Any advice is welcomed. THANKS

The cost is what it is.... doesn't seem like you are jacking her.... charge what you need to cover cost and make your day rate.

It cost me $26.40 to buy 120 sq ft of sod...so you are charging alot but you also can't do it for less if you have to go 80 miles to get it...I normally would never say this but since you only need 120 sq ft....why not just go to the closest Lowes or HD and get it there? Or is this like 100 miles away too?

yeah, definately go to Lowes or Home Depot and get it. It isnt worth driving that far

I had no idea Lowes or Home Depot even sell sod. There is a Lowes 20 miles away. I'll have to check into that. Thanks!!!!!

They sell it here in MO but they do not have it in yet...I bet by April they will though...
