Please forgive my ignorance but I'm walking a fine line on scheduling here.

I have quite a few tall-fescue reseedings lined up this year. So many that I actually was planning on starting the last week of August instead of the first of September. Up until the last three weeks, it just seemed this summer hadn't been quite as hot. But these last three weeks have all had several 100+ days and tomorrow is expected to be right at 100 again.

My concern is soil temperatures. What is the recommended soil temps. for overseeding tall-fescue and is actually using a meat thermometer a fairly good way of checking them?

These first yards I have planned are all irrigated. It sure would help a lot if I could get an early jump on them.:)
