When do you do a soil test- before you give your estimate or after the customer hires you?
I give an estimate that includes a soil test. They pay up front for the testing and then I deduct that from the final bill. It is also important to make sure the customer realizes that the price is just an estimate. The soil test results can and does have a bearing on the final price.
