Solo weedtrimmer gas streaming from gas tank vent valve

hi all, I have a eight year old or so Solo 129 string trimmer which runs great but notice last time I used it there was gas streaming out from the gas tank vent valve. I'm thinking some how when its running pressure is building up since its streaming out and not just a drip from the line. The stream looks like its from the side of the valve itself. Isn't the main function of the vent valve tolet air in so there is not a vacuum created while running?

I went to the Solo web sight but now there is no part list or trimmer showed. I sent them a email about this but never got a response. Figured I can measure old one and buy a new vent valve but there should not be any pressure building up anyway while running correct? If there is I'm guessing a carburetor? What all would cause pressure build up anyway...I can understand when sitting in the heat but while running?

Heat from motor will/does cause press. buildup. Usually not a problem, unless vent or cap leaks.
U need a new vent.

OK thanks, for some reason did not think about heat build up while running but I thought the cap vents out and this vents in?

If the vent you have looks like this

Most good mower shops would have them in stock, couple bucks at most....

There is no vent out, none. If it has a separate tank vent, the cap is sealed.
That pic is an Echo tank vent.
