Has anybody ever used any of the Southern States seed before? I was looking at the tall fescue premium blend online but I can't see what mixture is in it. Any opinions on this brand?

We all have opinions on what blend is best, and opinions are like elbows, everybody has a couple. I will tell you what NCSU's prof. over turf research told me. "I wouldn't give you a nickle for the differnce in performance between any of the three way blends." That being said, do check the seed tag. Avoid any seed that contains any weed seed or other crop seed. Also look for at least 85% germination and look at the test date. You don't want seed that is over a year old. I had a friend that used Southern States diamond blend and was very pleased with the results.

I'll probably stay away from Southern States and go with either Lesco or Scotts Southern Gold.
