Super early and it really screws up our renovations when they decide to do it. Normally we dont start ours till late Oct / Early Nov

 

Right? They dont do what is prudent for the turf, rather the fact they have too damn many to do and have to start 3 wks too early.

 

The way our weather is looking, bluegrass will probably go dormant if you cut the irrigation right now.

 

A company looking out to make things easy on itself, rather than doing what is right for the customer. I'm near you in MN and tell folks NO BLOWOUTS BEFORE 10/15!!!

 

I like it. How I operate. Turn on late and blow out early.

First week of freeze here is first week in October. That's when I have it done.

 

To your own lawn? If so certainly your choice.

If you are doing that for customers, not so wise. Heck next week here is all in the 80's and nearly every year is at least in the 60's for highs with POSSIBLE frost although frost date usually closer to Oct 10 or so. We are talking light frost, not freeze, which comes closer to Halloween.

These companies just want to push the envelope because they have way too many to do. Also, no one installed irrigation systems this season due to good rainfall, so they probably want SOMETHING to do as well lol.

 

Way too early. Even if we have frost or freeze it's not like lines are going to burst. We'll be back up into 60's & 70's in a few days...

 

I have already done 3 blowouts this past month . Customers heading off for second homes and want it done

 

Stupid customers. You should have told them I have you down and will do when appropriate.
