Just got in a couple new trimmers a SRM 260S and SRM 280S. All I can Say is I am taking the left over 260S back and getting another 280S. Im getting ready to take the guard off and go hit some brush and get a few pics. I cant figure out how to resize yet so give me a few. The 280 feels way better than the 260 and feels about the same weight. $379 vs $299 but its worth the extra $80.

I like those new style throttle triggers and safety switch... actually that whole assembly looks nice to use.. good luck with it!!

I can describe the power as a good running shindaiwa t-260 really like a T-270 but not near as heavy. Im really happy with it. Feels balanced and starts right up and doesn't sputter like the srm 260's when first started.

I liked them also until I started using them ......the safety trigger kinda sticks and don't allow the throttle trigger to be moved easily. Guess I will have to take them out before the workers break the throttle triggers.

I have two problems.. three problems with echo machines. First, if the pull cord snaps out of your hand it can snap back and break the choke button. I had that happen.

The safety thing is about the cheapest plastic and breaks very easily, and I get shocks from the trimmer.

I bought one last month and love it. I upgraded from a 230 to the 280. Better balance, controls and grip. It has plenty of power too.
