Starting Equipment, what do you think?

I am just getting started in the business and I am going to purchase a 2001 Turf Tracer which just had a brand new engine with zero hours put in it for $3,000. I am also going to buy a 6.5' X 12' trailer from Tomsrv.com for $1200. What do you guys think of that so far?

I think I need to ask you what kinds of properties you plan on servicing. What's in your area that will be profitable and is in play? What are you experienced with using? The clients that you get should drive your equipment purchases, not vice versa. If I have a series of 2000 sq. lawns with 32" gates, a 60" rider is just a dust collecting money hole.

Trailer price seems very high. I pay $850 for my 6x12. I got my 18' trailer (dual axle w/ brakes) for $1,600.

Shop around especially late in the season. $1,200 is no deal.
