I'm considering starting a small (solo at first) lawn care business. I would like to predominately focus on turf care (mowing, fertilizing, pest and disease control) and am wondering if this can be a profitable (30k+/year) endeavor.

I have many years experience landscaping and have a supervisors pesticide/fert license. I really want to get away from the hardscaping side of the industry but am not sure if I can make it with just mowing and lawn care. Any advise, recommendations or criticism is appreciated.

You will be able to make it with just lawn care but keep in mind if there is a drought your numbers will be down. I don't think you would have a problem grossing 30k in your first year but if you want to net that amount it is going to take you a few years.
