I live in Berryville VA and from 7/29-7/31 the annual steam and gas equipment show is being held. This is my first year attending . Man what cool stuff. There are 100 year old steam powered tractors they look and operate just like old locomotives. There are antique tractors, lawn mowers, dozers and a bunch of vendors. Friday night they had the tractor pull I was amazed to see 3 of those 100 (or so)year old steam engines take their place in line and even more amazed to see them hand the competion thier ass. With what seemed was ease those old beasts chugged thier way down the track pulling a sled that most of the more modern but smaller and on paper more powerful gas and diesel tractors could only pull 75-110 ft., the steam engines were pulling nearly 200 ft.There's 1 more day of it tomorow, they wont be pulling but they drive around demonstrating that they still run well.Just thought I'd let you guys know.
