Well i think my million year old edger i got off of ebay has just about bit the dust. Since they stopped making the STIHL FC85 i am stuck with the decision on either getting a commercial curved shaft or getting the 110 which my dealer priced at $429.00 which is alot but i would maybe spend it on an edger due to it is used at every job. Should i go FC 100, 110 or find a used 85? Thanks -Mitch-

i originally bought an fc75 for 329 w/ tax, took it home tried it out and didnt like it at all, i think the curve shaft takes alot of power out of the engine b/c it took a while to get spooled up, and i had to walk SLOWLY to keep it from bogging. took it back went all out and bought the fc110 straight shaft, no regrets even for 469 out the door price. this thing has balls! great torque, ive used it to bed edge, cut a small trench to lay wire and eveything else, this things eats whatever you throw at it.

I going to test one out, i dont really have a problem with my curved shaft, but know a straight would be 10000000x times better. Thanks -Mitch-

Mitch, I'll second TripleP in saying the FC110 is a true beast. You will have no need for a WB edger if you buy the 110.

I concur with your analysis,The low down grunt of the 4-Mix, will power through two inch overgrowth on sidewalks not edged in years. The FC110 is the one to get.

For an edger can not beat the 110. Do not want one for a weede whacker but I am getting ole and delicate in my old age. WEIGHT
