Can anyone briefly tell me what type of mortar to use to do a stone veneer wall. I know I need to put a mesh up, but what do I use to make the "butter"

We use a mortar called LaFarge type N mortar mix. You need to add mason sand to it as well, although you can buy bags that are already premixed which make it much easier. If your looking for a different color mortar they make powders to dye the mix. I recommend you go to your local mason supply center and ask them what to use as name brands vary from area to area.
