I have 2 trucks that I plan on storing this winter in a car port or tempo, outside in the cold (In Canada we can reach -40C) I plan on not insuring them, expect theft, fire and vandalism. I do not know exactly if it's a good thing to do, some people told me I should continue to run them both or rust will seize them back, or even they won't start back in spring. One of them is a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500,5.7L HEMI with 158k KM on it 2nd one is a 2009 Dodge Ram 3500 6.7 Diesel with 67k KM on it. The 3500 had a "life time rust proofing" done on it when it was brand new. The 1500 has nothing on it so I would need to rust proof it. I've been told not to tarp the trucks since it traps moisture, so a car port or tempo is my best solution, with a tarp underneath the trucks to keep the moisture down. I know I have to bring the batteries inside, fill up the tank to the top with new gas, new oil etc. But what else I should be concerned? Especially with the older truck? Thanks.
