Hey everyone, I'm looking at purchasing another trimmer this year. I have always used curved shaft trimmers and was wondering which most of you use? What are the advantages/disadvantages between the two. Which would you recommend? Thanks

curved shaft trimmers are not commercial grade and dont last long.... but more then that , a curved shaft equals a curved back which equals a sore back....

Straight Shafts are the only way to go. Saves greatly on the back!!

straight shaft all the way. much more durable and powerful. i personally have redmax, but shindiawa and tanaka are excellent also. good luck with whatever you purchase

And make sure it has a SOLID STEEL drive shaft for less power loss to the head and so you can add trimmer attachments.

I use a straight shaft echo with edgit and will never have a trimmer without edgit again. I tried the curved shaft last year for a week until my back was killing me so I took it back.
