I am having a problem at work with a Lazer Z 27hp Briggs/Vangard/Diahtsu diesel. I believe it is a 2001 with about 1100 hours on it. Last year the fuel system started taking in air. We sent it in to the dealer and they did not really know what was going on. After a conversation with the mechanic I talked him into replacing the fuel tank selection valve. That fixed the problem for a while, but it is now taking in air once again. My question is has anyone else had this problem and if so whats steps were taken to remedy the problem? I would also like to know if there is another way to bleed the fuel system other than the fuel prime hand-pump? I am 80 percent sure that it is the tank selection valve. Tommorrow I am going to bypass the valve to see if that helps the problem.
