I have a T260 string trimmer and it is a gas hog. It seems to use twice or three times the gas that other trimmers use. Would anyone know a reason why? Also I think it might be running a little rich which might could explain some gas. It has black specs all around where the muffler comes out. Does anyone know a solution for this?
Clean the carb, spark arestor screen, and exhaust port. Replace the spark plug and fuel filter. Run it with fresh fuel, let warm, and then adjust the carb so it runs well.
Larger trimmers will take more fuel but also have more power. So make sure your comparing apples to apples.
I'm guessing that the exhaust port and screen are plugged up.
On their website they have owners manuals which give torque specs and such for things mentioned. They may have diagrams also, but it is pretty easy to look at them and figure how they come apart.
