    Hello all,

I recently purchased my new scag 61" turf tiger, a 6x10 trailer (with racks and a front cage for w/e its worth) My question is I have a 1996 toyota tacoma 2.7L 4cyl 5sp 4x4. I will be useing it for 75% of the seson untill I find a nice F-250 that suits my needs. Will the truck survive?!? I have not pulled the mower Or trailer yet, (my towing package is being installed tomarrow) I have put a lot of money into easeing the load on the truck, (revtek topout spacer, Denver add leafs in the rear, new more stiff coilovers, etc etc,) I am also looking at a 48" Scag W/b tomarrow, so theres more weight, I really need some advice before I possible kill my truck ):

have a friend in the business with a tacoma, not sure what engine he has, but its a 4x4 5spd. and hes used it the past two seasons pulling a 14ft tandem. with john deere z, and toro 37" w/b. does it ok. said it doesnt pulll very good but it gets him there. hes upgrading this year to a f-350.

that truck will struggle with the load. I have a 94 22RE 5spd and it doesn't like to tow more than 1K lbs. I have used it in an emergency to haul the Z on my 6x12, but I wouldn't recommend it. I would add trailer brakes too if you're dead set on it. You'll eat the truck brakes up in no time towing that much weight.

Yea I agree with what everyone is saying,
I got an 06 tacoma, 5spd 4cyl 4x4 reg cab, that I tow a 5x8 enclosed. I got a 36 lesco and a few other things in there, probably over 1200lbs. Its def tough on the brakes and the truck. I can't get mine over 70 mph on the highway. But it works fine around town for my jobs. Right now I look at it like I get 17 plus miles to the gallon so it saves me on fuel. I'd look into upgrading eventually but if your like me you gotta make due with what you got til you can upgrade.
good luck and make some money

I used a Tacoma 4x4 for two years. It would pull the load fairly well but stopping was something else. Take it easy.
