Depends on the size of the job, Ric.

I have one residential that is 16 acres of just mowing and a gazillion shrubs and trees to trim around plus a pond to trim around as well. I sure as heck wouldn't want to do that by myself each week (unless I had nothing else to do that day).

Small jobs, at least someone to do the trimming and blowing while I mow.

BTW, we don't work alone...crews of 2, 3, and 4 depending on the day of the week.

rodfather has made the perfect point. It just depends. But normally we run a 2 man crew. We tried a 3 man crew for a week and it was totally confusion. We were only saving maybe 5 mins per job, thats all. Not worth the time or money for us.

Tiedeman is right, most residential places gets done almost at the same time with 2 guys than with 3, some real big houses gets done faster with 3.

I voted solo because thats my only option.:D
  6. Gimme a jingle, I'll let you experience a crew...

Then you can decide where to go from there.

BTW going to set a date for a luncheon here in the St. Louis metro area soon, hope you can come.

Also commercial does not always mean large, just it's a place of business, not a home.

On average size residentials (15k and less) you save about 33% of the time using 1 helper. If it normally takes 1 hour solo, it would take about 35-40 minutes with 1 helper.
