    Hey everyone.

My first post with this forum. I have been a member with many home building forums forever but this is my first equipment forum.

My question is this: I have recently purchased an old takeuchi tb 15 mini ho.

Runs and works good but has over 11 000 hours on it! I think there is a serious problem though. When I drained the drive motors one was very black and thick and the other was bone dry. I have noticed the it doesn't track straight either. Do I need a new drive or should I fill both with clean 80-90???? or something else? and give it a try. Or will this cause further damage? Don't know if I should carry one with repairs or not. I have heard drive motor repairs a very expensive!

Any help is very much appreciated.

I don't think you drained the drive motors. You more than likely drained the planetary hub for the drive. Its common for the fluid to be nasty. Not normal if none came out. Refill with fresh gear oil and go from there. Alot of things can cause the tracking to be off, to include a bad bearing in the planetary hub.

I'm pretty sure the hubs run 68w hydraulic oil.
