Any idea on a fair asking price on a 5 year old tank m-54 23 horse Kaw with 114 hours. Perfectly maintained by older gentleman who used on his property? He want 4900.....does this mower stack up against the competition? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

you can find a MUCH better ZTR for $5K than a tank! keep looking, when they feel they must mention "maintained by older gentleman", that usually means they are trying to hide something else, and I dont know about him, but many older guys rig things and dont do much preventive maint. anyhow!!! just my opinion, but dont buy any Tank, unless you find one for under $500. or so.

Can you give insite as to what you dislike about Tanks...? 2008 up versions.?
There are not even built by CC or MTD. I gave 7k for a 08- 72KW w/ 37hp Kawi & beat the crap out of it, nothing has failed yet on 6 very, very rough acres & completely tree'd. I definaley will be trying out a big deisel net time around from another company . I am very hard on mowers & really can't find a huge flaw in a Tank, welds are as good as they get, etc,

He's way too proud of it.

We've had EXCELLENT luck with all our Cub Commercial stuff...

Price is high on it. I just bought a M60 with a 27hp Kohler that was a year old with 100 hours on it for $4500.
Oh and don't listen to most of the guys on here, the Tank is a great mower for the money. If you don't beat on your machines and maintain them properly they will last you forever. I don't believe in buying a name, and most of the essential parts are the same as the high dollar machines.

I have the same M-54 2006 Model as you are asking about. Paid $7,500.00 when it was new - it has 116 hours on it. No problems at all with it , makes a beautiful cut.

Not sure what price you should counter-offer the guy but there are plenty of folks who run the tanks and older Lescos (same mower) and are pleased with them.
