Hi all.

As a mower mechanic I often have 2 stroke machines in with straight fuel. No oil. But giving the customer a, “I stuck my finger in and it doesn’t feel like there is any oil in here!” In not very professional. Any tips without spending cash on test that I am likely not to see again?

I pour some in a clear bottle if I’m unsure if I mixed that can. Now if the tool was half full of mixed gas and then filled with straight gas I'm not sure how you’d determine that.

Paper bag test.... pour some straight and supposedly mix on a brown paper bag. Mixed should show staining from the oil, so I've been told.

All of these test imply the tool was completely empty and then filled with straight gas. We’ve yet to determine a test for if the tool had some mixed fuel and was then topped off with straight gas.
