    Right on:

Otherwise your answers will fall into two extremes:

Those who are happy with theirs and thinks they have the best.
Those who are unhappy with theirs and think they have the worst.

Then you have to figure out what the variables are:

Who is happy because they have a great dealer?
Who is happy because they got a great deal?
Who is happy because they got laid this morning?

Generally speaking: The commercial ztrs are of similar quality. Most of them use the same kind of engines, same hydrostatic drive units and the same pumps. The variations are the deck quality (stamped or fabricated, thick or thin) Bearing quality (needle bearings VS bushings) and a host of other things.

The residential ZTR's are not usually discussed on this website because, for the professionals here they simply cannot cut the mustard.

Then of course you have to define what makes a mower best....is it:
Cutting width? Purchase Price? Blade Tip Speed? Horsepower? Make of engine? Bagging ability?

In my case the Cub Cadet Commercial Tank 48" made sense because of the 0% financing and the low purchase price..... You might prefer something else for other reasons.

Do your homewrok, read the posts on this board, ask a few questions and dive right in. Oh yeah.... Welcome to Lawnsite!

    WOW John

I never thought I would hear that from you.
Maybe one day you will go demo a new John deere W/B or ZTR and get rid of that red thing you have.

    2002 JD M655 w/54" & 462Z TracVac
    2004 JD 757 w/54" mulch
    2002 Model T walker w9.5 hopper
    2001 DC Flatlander w/60"
    2000 DC LX2001 w/42" convertable deck to 36"

    That's the Z's

The reason for the JD's... we can't beat the dealer support. Loaners, and just so much more. DC's can't keep a dealer here.

Most all of the Zs ride pretty much the same. Bigger tires = better ride. A suspension seat is a must for better comfort.
