The right tools for Drylearing brush

Hi, new to the site, appreciate any advice. I just bought a 20 acre property in the CA foothills. It's beautiful, with lots of oak trees and dry grass about 2-3 ft tall. I'm trying to reduce fire danger by clearing the dried grass. Some of the property is pretty steep, some more sloped and some flat. The home string trimmer works but is going slow. I bought a garden tractor, but that's not going to work on a lot of the property. I am looking at a walk behind string trimmer, maybe a cub cadet st100. Any advice?
