I have a Jewish customer who always likes to be service on Saturdays.
She always says " dont call before coming as I dont answer the phone on the Sabbath , but I will be here as I never drive on the sabbath"
Anyone else ever hear of or deal with this?

Yep except I take care of them during the week, and occasionally see them walking down the road miles from home on Saturday.

Lots of people don't work on the sabbath. In Israel, they have elevators that stop on every floor on Shabat, or the Sabbath, that way the riders need not push the button. We were in a Hotel in Jerusalem once, the water heater went out on Shabat, and they wouldn't re-lite it till after sundown.

Your spirtually observent customer observes sabbath as a day for detachment from the physical world and it's distratctions and focuses on concentration, and contemplation of the holy spirit for the purpose of spirtual rejuvination and thanks for the new week.

Really her request shouldn't affect you. I'm sure you don't call her every time before cutting the grass right? So you show up, cut her grass, leave, and bill her monthly. Nothing really to deal with, with that customer.
If that's her only request, you're lucky.
As for us, i really don't know if any of our customers are jewish or not. They've never mentioned anything.

I know some of my clients are Jewish, but I've never had a request to work on Saturday.

ahh well, to each their own.

I've met people who are not willing to hand over money on the Sabbath. Doesn't bother me as long as I get it in the long run!
