    yeh that water level is too high, something in the drain field must not be working right

    It was right on a creek that runs into the bay and the tide was up. It's very comon to have the water table at just a few feet during high tide.

    Why didn't you move the line? Seems to me that is a disaster waiting to happen.

    They must have to check a tide table before they can flush the toilet or wash themselves!!!

    Maybe that was the overflow tank and there is no leaching field (uncommon on Long Island older cesspool systems to have a leaching field)???

    If that was the main cesspool then high tide or not, that pool doesn't drain well if the level is higher than the inlet/outlet pipe.

    To me, that looks like a clogged cesspool system.

    in areas not covered by undeground service alerts do you guys ever do any pre pull or excavation sweeps for utilities or tanks?

    that's how i actually got interested in locating, preventative sweeps have saved me a lot in lost time and damages.

    Me and my guy will take my spit box and induce and sweep the area in sort of a grid to look for any wires that might be in the yard
