I normally turn down a lot of sod jobs and stick to maintenance...every now and then maybe a small sod job...I'm thinking of expanding to do more sod jobs...any advice on sod cutters, pro's and cons...

I asked this question a while back and got nothing. Sod cutters are a pricey piece of equipment especially if you only do a few small jobs. I used and hated ryans for years, too heavy aqnd hard to control, eats eccentric arms every. 25 hours. I bought a Billy Goat demo model for 1500 and love it. Light with 4 wheel drive, makes short work of St. Augustine. Husqvarna has a similair model.

I always rent...seems like I've needed one about every other week tho... Still, I'm going to go with rental for now. Got a great rental place very close to the shop and they have REALLY nice Ryans that are the newest model. Lot's of anti-vibration and a lock/swivel wheel in the back that make curves easier. Maybe next summer I'll buy a used one off them.

I hate the bulky Classens that Home Depot rents... I'd try a new Ryan out
