Third manifold for my FORD what!!!

    Just had my third manifold replaced on my 2001 ford 259 with only 77,000 miles on it. WTF do they just get rusty and crack? One driver side and two pass. side.I dont get it I have had many trucks in my family over my time, but never had to replace THREE manifolds on one truck. Any ideas why this is?:hammerhead:

    no-one had this issue with the f-250's??

    I'm on my third manifold on my V10 F250 with 70K on it. Very common problem and costly too!

    ford has a problem with the manifolds on the v10 and v8 the stud bolts rust and break a cause the manifold to warp and crack
    if you want a little cheaper solution I put a set of bolt on factory replacement headers and eliminated this problem and it was alot cheaper than buying 1 manifold
    google gibson headers they make direct bolt in replacement and you will notice a little better milage with them also (I noticed a little)

    Some cast iron manifold just whorp and crack .A common problem can be a replacement exhaust system may have exhaust hanger welded solid with no slack ,like many factory rubber and metal hanger that give a little .This can can be compounded by minimum wage employees and a manual transmission .

    What kind of gas mileage are you guys getting out of those V10's? I'm thinking of going back to a Superduty.
