I have a lot of lawns that are still really stemmy too Whoop. I'll be glad when the stems go away too. It will stop a lot of the questions from homeowners about it.

Wrong!! It's called "Anthesis" look it up. It's when the bluegrass is growing at it's fastest rate. The blades are very tender and tear real easily. Primo Maxx growth regulator applied before the turf goes through this stage greatly reduces this seed head. Usually the lawns go through this stage in 2 weeks or so. Also you will notice a discoloration of the turf in these areas.

I hear you. I had a lawn last year who'd never used a service. I apply liberally for the first treatment and they call all freaked out because I filled their lawn with weeds.

Go out there and explain that their lawn is going to seed. They, surprised, say "it's never done THAT before!" I reply: "you're welcome."

That's funny. I had to write a thesis to get my Master's Degree. Oh well.

This year it seems to be later in the Midwest because of the cooler Spring and worse because of the rain. I have some lawns I wasn't able to time the Primo apps right and they still have some seed-heads. Oh well!!

O yes. I wasted an hour Saturday explaining to a customer that they were not weeds; he had ryegrass seedheads. Probably some clumps of cheap ryegrass interspersed among his better quality ryegrass. Also a few clumps of tall fescue. I took a weed book along so we could play match the picture with 14 different types of grass.

He claims he never had this before. And was convinced that it was spreading from another nearby lawn.
    Don't you just love it?

I know what you mean John. It's always fun dealing with some customers.
