This is my question.
what the freaking hell is to LLC or NOT to LLC
Speak to either an attorney and/or an accountant. Only they can determine for you whether or not to do it. I did 3 years ago and found it was the best thing to do (i.e., go to LLC instead of DBA) and wish I had done it sooner...
When I went from a partnership to solo, I did the LLC thing. To protect me, to protect my business, and to protect my name. I had my lawyer do it, cost $350 and took like a week. So far so good.
Depeding in your business size, it might make more sense becoming a Inc. S corp. and take more advantage of taxes.
I went from dba to inc.
Here are some posts that will help you investigate this further.
going to swithc over to LLC
partnership, llc or corp.
Go LLC and you don't have to do all the corporate meetings and necessary filings.
My wife is an accountant, she set me up as an LLC. It cost us $150 and was quite easy for her to file.
