    what can i spray on tomato's to keep bugs away but not kill the plant?

    First, are you sure you have bugs? If so, what kind? maybe you have a disease? If so, what kind?
    Second, if a pesticide is required make sure you do not apply it within the days before harvest listed on the label.

    You're not doing this professionally, right?

    Good for you, that does make a difference.
    Google organic pesticides for tomatoes.

    Neem oil and Hot pepper wax are 2 organic alternatives.

    Permetherin and carbaryl are effective and safe, but not organic.

    It's not organic but meant to say Sevin-5 Dust.

    Neem oil or the organic product Azadractin (maybe it is the same stuff). Pyrthrins. BT. Also try sticky traps for insects. Also try, insect predators--like praying mantis, ant lions, lady bugs.
