I run a Toro 52" SFS deck. Basically the discharge deflector gets in the way.
I have bent my fair share of them. I am looking at putting a metal plate on the discharge chute (One I can remove under tough conditions). I don't want a full blown mulch kit but would like to block the discharge. Anyone run a set up like that how does it work. I mow St Aug, Bermuda and weeds.

    Thanks Guys

    Mike -
I've seen @ Expo in years past, a contraption that flips down from a bar from the control handles.

I installed a wooden discharge blocker just to see how it would work.Left rows of grass on that side of the deck. Not pretty.
As for the metal chute,I keep mine raised with the same strap that it shipped with. Most places take them off before selling.Just get one of those and you can keep the chute raised.
    Also,the mulch kit works great.Worth the $$'s.
