I have NEVER run the toro. I do have a 48" Exmark Vantage, and love it.

The main reason I'm replying is, if you get the wright, pop for the bigger engine. I went "cheap" and bought the basic 15 kawasaki. Most of the time, it's fine power, but there are enough times I've wanted more, I think the cost would've been justified (plus the advantage of having a charging system, if you want to add any power accessories).

Why do you prefer Wright? Do you feel like the stander saves a you a good amount of time in tight areas such as a small backyard compared to a 21 inch?
I own a 36" Wright, have had it for 3.5 years. I have had no issues and yes it is a big time saver. Face it, Wright is the originator of the stander.

We got two sentars 36" and they work well on small yards with mulch kits on them. But we keep a sentar and a scag hyro on the trailer and more often than not they use the scag wb when only using one unit:dizzy: According to the POM If you are getting a stander get Wright tried and proven and they can actually be serviced.

this is where i'm at right now also, a 36" rapid height vs. a grandstand...very tough decision...it's very true with wright being the original and proven, but toro has done a good job getting around the patents and still making a quality machine...the main differences i see are the wright is shorter which makes it slightly more maneuverable but the toro has a better deck...toro is also heavier by 80 lbs i believe, and 170 if you go with the original stander, not rapid height...i like the controls on the toro better but the height adjustment on the rapid height is easier, not by a whole lot though...seems like the toro is more comfortable/easier on the knees...that's about all i've got for now

i might add we have two 52" grandstands and love them...i think our biggest question on the 36 is which one will perform better on hills

Neither of them will do as good on hills as your 52"grandstand. I have the larger grandstands as well but i bought the wright 36" because the center of gravity with their design was better than the toro. The Toro is a lot more comfortable to operate and the controls are nicer but we experienced too much skidding and tipping with it.
I prefer the larger grandstands over the wrights, but for the 36" size i decided on the wright.... But man does it shake the teeth out of your heading bumpy lawns! And the fixed deck height that we have wasn't a very good idea.... Too much time to adjust it.
