I have a new Toro 20038 w/ the Personal Pace system. When I start to push the bar to activate some forward movement I can sometimes hear a fast clicking sound (almost like gears slipping or something).

Also, when I'm mowing I think I can hear a lighter version of that same clicking under the rumble of the engine. There's no degradation in performance or anything (as far as I can tell)... but I'm not so sure those are 'normal' operating sounds.

ARE those normal sounds? I've only had the mower for a few hours of use.

try greasing the drive wheels - the fitting is right inside the wheel - if this doesn't work, get the unit into your dealer

I dropped it off for it's free 5 hour service today and will be out of town for a week. I'll pick it up next Monday and post a reply to let you know if that was the problem/resolution.

Drive belt rattling - when you start to move the mower, the belt slaps around a bit as tension is applied. Nothing to worry about.

If you can get an angle to see that belt as you push the handle down, you'll understand what I'm saying.
