i'm in the market for a new walk behind. I have been using the tor 32 inch floating deck with a 12.5 kholer. It works well with residential with fences being accesible. ex mark has a 36 inch walk behind and I believe it is a fixed deck. Does anyone have any input on the two mowers. Which is better fixed or floating decks.

    Better for what?
It all depends on what you are using the mower for. If you are going to be changing deck heights all day then you should go with a floating deck. If the fixed deck does not have anti-scalp wheels and your properties are proned to scalping a floating deck will be the tool to use. With such a small machine (32"-36") Scalping should not be that big of a problem anyway. What you want to look for is a manufactured floating deck, not stamped. That will give you the best cut and versatility. IMO

By the way Exmark has 4 models that come in 36" cuts. Two are fixed and two are floating. Metro, Metro hp, Turf Tracer, and the Viking
