Howdy everyone
Just wondering how many guys out there have had tough times and hardships and been able to pull through and how you did it.
I will give you my story.
I have been mowing for about 5 years just part time as I have another full time job. I started just to make some extra cash and I enjoyed mowing and working outdoors so it made sense. I am just a solo operation and do plenty to stay very busy. This past summer struck a huge blow to me. At one of my jobs I had an accident. Somehow someway I ended up with a rusty nail shot into the back of my leg. At first I didn't know what happened. I thought my calf had been hit with a piece of a stick and cut it pretty good. I was stupid and wrapped it with an old t-shirt I had in the truck to stop the bleeding and went on with my job. Then the next 3 lawns as well. By the end of the day I could hardly walk. Skipping to the point a few days later I had surgery to remove a nail from the leg. To make matters worse I ended up back in the hospital with an infection for 4 more days. Thankfully my dad was able to cover for me while I healed for a few weeks so I didn't lose my customers. It could have been a lot worse than it was, but the ridiculous hospital bills are bad enough for me. Thankfully I have insurance through my full time job. By the way it took me 3 days in the hospital before I got my tetanus shot for a rusty nail in my leg. Can you say absurd?
Sorry for making the post so long. Anyone out there have similar stories?
