I currently have a 2005 Silverado 1500HD 4x4 and I get about 10mpg towing, 11mpg in city, and about 13 mpg highway. I tow a 6x10 open trailer with mower and trimmers about 2 days a week. I'm thinking about trading for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. I've looked up the average mpg from consumers and they have been 16 city and 20ish on highway. Looking for opinions.

Your gonna trade a truck based on 2 days of use, doesn't sound very smart to me.

I have the 02 1500hd and only get 7.5 mpg, 195 miles per fill. It blows but the truck is paid for and I can do most repairs myself. I would love to get a newer truck, but the thought of having another truck payment blows. I love not having a truck payment...

Going from a fullsize v8 to a small (v6?? or v8?) toyota doesnt sound like something I would want out of a work truck but then again your pulling a small trailer. I def. wouldnt do it if your going to be taking on a new payment.

Its not paid off so I am making monthly payments on it. I just drive to and from my full time job and mow a couple afternoons a week.
