I just installed new brakes on the back axle of my trailer and they work great. The problem I'm now having is that the ones on the front axles don't work right. One will grab and lockup and the other doesn't do anything. If I pull the break away switch they all 4 lock up like they should. I did back of the adjuster on the one that locked up but it didn't do any good. Does anyone have an answer to this problem?

I had same problem long time ago and then I was told if you replace one axle best replace both axles so they will be in time of each other So I replace the other axle fix the same problem you are having

I didn't replace the back, just added more. This may have been a problem for a while as I thought I was just overloading the front axle brakes. I did pull the drum off the one that keeps hanging up, it looks like new other than surface rust.

3.5K dexter axles, with axletek brand brakes on the front and tie down on the back (installed 2 days ago and work fine). All parts look the same and are supposed to be interchangeable. Worst case I'll go buy 2 more backer plates to put on the front.
