We have a 24' enclosed trailer with a top wind jack. Long story short...I need to replace it. I'm contemplating whether or not to get the electric jack. The manual jack is $40 plus shipping while the electric jack is $284 plus shipping. FYI, we take the trailer on/off truck/s between 2-3 times per week during the operating season.

I'm curious as to how well (or not) the electric jack works. Can it operate off of the battery that is used for the electric brakes? I'm assuming the wiring would be to black, red to red...we are dealing with dc. Not sure of the battery size b/c the trailer is at the shop. Or, perhaps the jack has to be wired into the wiring harness to operate from the trucks trailer plug.

Any insight, comments, suggestions would be greatly appreciated...thank you.
