Have an older(mid 90's) Murry Riding Mower 14.5 HP 42 inch deck. It has an automatic transmission and everyone I have talked with to this point tells me that it is a sealed unit. I have found a fluid reservoir attached to either the drive axel or the transmission. They(the trani and drive axel) look like they could be one unit. My question, should anyone be able to help, is what kind of fluid does this auto trani take? :dizzy:

give me a day or so my father-in-law works at the murray plant where they build these lawnmowers i will ask them what the factory puts in them and get back with you or if you can put fluid in them

Are you having trouble with it or are you just curious? I have two of these old horses and both hydros work good on original fluid with none ever added. They are 7 and 8 years old with Dana transaxles.
