I ourchased a chevy dually with a three speed tranny. It seems to be a good truck but it drinks gas and iii put too much trans fluid in it and now i cant get it right because the rubber thing on the dipstick is giving me a falty reading. Anyways now i am having trouble even putting it in reverse or shifting into a gear. It slips now too because of the overflow of fluid. I just want to know if it will shift easier if i take out some of the fluid or should i get a new dipstick and drain all the fluid and start over. I dont want to risk burning it.

I would definatley drain the fluid and while your at it replace the filter too. I always install a drain plug in the pan, it makes it easier to drain it the next time. Too much fluid will foam and boil out the dipstick tube and cause all sorts of problems. JB

    I'd do what JB Says.
