We have been charging $10-$15 per foot when installing trees (plus $15 for stake kit, if needed) Is this in line?

I don't understand why you would charge per foot when it matters how big the root ball is. I charge based on how long it will take my guys.

dunno how u guys think of your formulas :dizzy:

we usually double the price of the tree retail price. that has always been sufficient to cover the labor and stakes etc. even by your math, that is not too bad a price though after looking at some figures i did. maybe a little low sometimes, but not bad.

Homeowner purchased trees themselves. We would need to pickup and plant. Six trees re 1-2 inches in diameter. Therefore, basically I understand time and materials ,just a guess of my part. That is why I wanted to see a rule of thumb.
