Hello All. My name is rob and i have a question regarding trees. I do hedges and small tree trimming, my question is i have been doing a lot of yardwork on my parents lawn and there is a big pine maybe 4 ft tall. When i was younger my mom trimmed the lower branches about 10 ft up with a pole saw. Now it looks odd because the top part is more full then the bottom part. How do i trim that back without killing the tree to make it a more slender appearence. Thank you.

I'm guessing maybe she sheared it like a Christmas tree and also removed the lower branches. If it's more than 10' tall leave it be or cut it down and replace it.

The new growth can still be candled or sheared if you can reach it. I'm guessing it's 40' tall? a good pair of pole pruners with a long extension or ladder, maybe a manlift to get it back into a desirable shape is possible.
