I have a gal of Trimec Lawn and Weed killer which I bought for $22. I found out that I could get the Lesco 3 way for $47 which is a lot stronger with identical chemicals. Which one is a better deal?

Here is the composition of the two.
    Trimec Lawn and Weed Killer
    2,4-D 7.59%
    MCPP 1.83%
    Dicamba 0.84%
    Lesco 3-Way
    2,4-D 30.56%
    MCPP 8.17%
    Dicamba 2.77%

Are you studying for the state license and you can't figure out the math???

You are going to have to add the cheaper material at multiple applications to control the same weed than just using the better herbicide. Would you want to spray something 2-3 times just to get the same results? It is all about paying for what you get. We don't want repeat apps unless it is a hard to control weed.

The cheapo trimec is the consumer grade product sold at the general weed control section of the store. The Lesco product is sold to the licensed applicator who understands what it will do. Around my area...........you need a license to buy Trimec in the gallon or larger....................especially when it is in the 30% acid range.

All you need to do is take the cost in dollars and divide that by the ounces in a gallon to achieve the cost per ounce..! Then look at the label to see what your application rate is per gallon of water or acre. Then add the number of ounces per gallon times the cost per ounces and you have the cost needed per gallon. Do this twice on your original question. You will see that the Lesco 3-Way is way more of a deal to purchase and apply per acre or gallon.

This question is steering toward what we are ideally paying for chemical versus what we are charging..............and the profit markup.!!!
    Good Try!!!!!

I don't feel that we need to go there on a public forum.
I know that wal mart pays around .15 cents a bag for M&M's and we pay .99 cents.
Is there a difference in the profit margin than someone else???
