I need a new trimmer. I was looking at Redmax and Echo. What do you guys recommend?
stihl straight shaft.
hey, i will give you the same answer i give for someone asking about what brand ztr, wb, tractor, truck, etc etc etc. i suggest you research all the different brand of trimmers that are available in your area, and especially the ones that your dealer sells. each trimmer brand has there pros and cons, pick a trimmer that's pros will benifet you the most, and cons, wont interfere with your work performance etc to much. my personal favorite is the echo, however i have used red max with no complaints.
If you are a solo operator the $200 Echo will last you 3 or 4 years.
I would never buy an Echo product. They use Zama carbs and always have carb problems after a year of use. I woul go with the Kawi KBL26A. It uses the same unverisal trimmer head as the echo; however, that is the only thing you will find the same on both machines. The Kawi has a longer run time and weighs only 9.5lb. Redmax strato charge engines is another great choice.
